In its second year, the Volkl Kiku is a great looking women-specific all mountain ski that continues to please. While it’s got many of the characteristics of an all mountain mid-fat, the Kiku is a full 106mm underfoot, giving it the flotation and the look of a dedicated powder ski.
While our testers called this a fun ski that likes to take “big, sweeping wide radius turns”, many said it wasn’t all that forgiving – it’s a lot of ski, and it is built for an aggressive skier who won’t take the backseat. It’s relatively light and only moderately stiff, so it isn’t necessarily built for speed on hardpack.
VOLKL KIKU REVIEW // WHO IT’S FOR
Aggressive female skiers looking for a primarily soft snow / backcountry ski that has crossover capabilities to varied, in-bounds conditions.

VOLKL KIKU // WHAT THEY SAID
“An absolute blast in powder… chatters a little on hardpack.”
“It’s a burly, wide ski, but really light. Best of both worlds if you spend a lot of time in deep snow, but not well suited to quick turns.”
